Dr. Hu joined Huazhi in August 2017. He worked at Dow AgriSciences, Syngenta Seed China, China National Seed Group Corporation as senior scientist, senior technical manager, general manager of R&D, director of product testing, respectively. He led and worked on the research projects in molecular breeding in crops such as rapeseed, sunflower and wheat, and also led conventional breeding and variety testing for maize and rice. He has extensive experience in conventional plant breeding, as well as molecular marker-assisted breeding. He is with many years of R&D management experience both in foreign and domestic seed companies.

Dr. Hu received his Ph.D. degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding from Purdue University in 1995, M.S. degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding from Henan Agricultural University in 1985, B.S. degree in Agronomy from Ningxia Agricultural University in 1982.
